Government wants to link each city by rail: Prime Minister Narendra Modi

Describe the railways as the backbone of the growth of the nation, Prime Minister Narendra Modi today said the effort of the Centre was to connect all cities with rail connection.

"The railway is the backbone of the growth of the nation and its development, the government has planned to develop and deliver desired rail link to each city," said Mr. Modi.

Inaugurating Hazaribagh town's train station and live outside Hazaribagh-Koderma DMU Mr. Modi said at a public meeting that the railways play an important role in the growth and economic development.

Mr Modi, who had the distinction of reporting a train in Hazaribagh which saw its first train of the history of railways, said Jharkhand had rich mineral resources and the railway network in the entire Jharkhand could help transport minerals across the tracks.

The Centre has signed MoUs with the new government in Jharkhand to complete six major rail projects, including the rail project Koderma-Hazaribagh, Ranchi at the earliest, he said.These projects would be completed by March 2017 and both Central and State would provide fifty-fifty basis of funds, Mr. Modi said.

The comparison with Jharkhand Australia for the same type of natural resources, he said, once the natural resources of Jharkhand were used properly, the state would become the most developed in the country.

"We will develop with the latest modern technology and provide all facilities for passengers traveling by trains. By modernizing the railways, we want to open more job opportunities for the unemployed," said M . Modi.

Thanking farmers Hazaribagh for the provision of land for construction of 79.7 km railway line Hazaribagh-Koderma of East Central Railways, he also praised the former Minister Yashwant Sinha Union for striving hard from day Atal Bihari Vajpayee government.
